WISCONSIN
Auditors warn medical malpractice fund is in poor financial shape after legislature took $200 million in 2007 to balance state budget. It now has $109 million less in assets than projected liabilities. The board may have to raise fees on healthcare providers again. Last year, fees rose 9.9%. The state supreme court is considering an appeal that would re-compensate the fund.
